| Lastest Prayer Letter : | July 16th, 2008 Dear Praying Friends, The Rotens stand much in need of your prayers at this time. With all that has come at us lately I have not been able to get back to Cardenas on the schedule I had planned. I must report to the brethren there like Paul to the Thessalonians, “Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us.†Truly both Satan and the direct providence of God have hindered, but I speak to them weekly by phone, and the faithful there continue faithful, and desire your prayers for the church, and that the Lord would be pleased to send a pastor to them. After a good week in Oklahoma City for a very profitable conference, we returned home faced with much illness. Then this past Monday, Janet’s car was blindsided on the passenger side. It was good that she was traveling alone at the time. She has been having a lot of body, back and neck pain, but is feeling a little better today. She will be going to the doctor in a few days. The car was a total loss, and we are waiting for the insurance check. We will have to come up with some extra cash, and hope to replace her car soon. It is impossible for us to get by with one car, since I am away traveling in Mexico for weeks at a time. Please pray both for her, and the replacement of her car. Additionally, I have discovered some swelling, pain and pressure in my neck. I have been to our family doctor, and our next step is a CT scan tomorrow. I do not know if that will actually be conclusive, or what exactly might be the follow-up. We are praying that it will be something easily treated, but we have to make sure it is not a reappearance of my cancer from 6 years ago. I will send out a report on this when I have some news. Please pray for us. Grace and peace, |
